Olwen is regularly commissioned to write programme notes for concerts around the UK and has given practical lectures on ornamentation in Corelli's op.5 sonatas and in eighteenth-century dance at the Royal Academy of Music and on Baroque Music Summer Schools. She wrote contributions for the book published to accompany the Kohn Foundation Bach Cantata Series in 2015, 2016, and 2017, and assisted with the editing of Handel’s Ariodante for the Academy Opera in 2014. Her current research is on Handel's Haymarket Theatre orchestra between 1711-1729.

 

Olwen was awarded the RAM Mary Burgess Academic Prize (2014) for her final year dissertation on narrative structure in early seventeenth-century instrumental music, and she also received the RAM Ayling Prize for Academic Achievement in 2013.
